The New York Times offers a moving glimpse into how the iPad breaks boundaries for those with disabilities—including this 7-year-old boy with a debilitating motor-neuron disease. Although even the smallest movements are a challenge for Owen Cain, the iPad became the first computerized communication device that Owen could use immediately.

Since he received the iPad, Owen has been trying to read books, and playing around with apps like Air Guitar. And, one day, he typed out on the keypad, “I want to be Han Solo for Halloween.”
